KFalls Upfate

Okay, Tom...here's the deal. There's nothing happening worth writing about. Doug's been pretty much sitting the bench ever since Henley's JV coach got put in jail. The assistant JV coach (Dave Myers) is a genuine All-American douche bag, who doesn't know diddly about basketball. Kids get to swing up to varsity when they post high stats, so JV basketball at Henley bears an amazing resemblance to the NBA...the guards shoot most of the time, and don't really try to get the ball to anyone but the post (Doug is usually playing up around the free throw line). Because the Dearing twins (Eek and Meek) like to throw up 3 pointers, the rest of the kids feel that every time they touch the ball they need to shoot...so there's minimal passing. Doug, unfortunately, is stuck in 60's basketball, and on the rare occasions when he does touch the ball he passes it to open team mates. He did send us a text tonight to let us know that he scored 10 or 12 points...but it was against IV's JV, and I'm sure Henley blew them off the court.

As for the rest of us, Steph's next meet is against OSU on February 7th (in Boise). Your mom and I were going to make a surprise visit to watch her, but there's some kind of lame-ass bird watching convention going on there and the Shilos are booked (we can't afford to get a motel that we actually have to pay for) so that little trip is out. Donald's tally-whacker fell off when he contracted his little bout of fungus-mungus, so Kayleigh's not pregnant (that we know of). Personally, I think she has quite a bit more class than that anyway...I think she'd kick the crap out of Donald if he tried anything.

I'm not sure about Dan and Laurie...I think that they have really limited access to the internet, so Laurie doesn't get to write very often, and doesn't have much time to write when she does have access. I know that she hasn't done anything on her blog for about a week...the only things I've seen from her are the remarks on your blog and a few on mine.

Jeff and Breein? I think Breein took your daughter up to Seattle, and left Jeff at home wondering if he's shooting blanks. He called here earlier tonight looking for Donal...I think they're conspiring against you.

I have to go pick up Doug...so this post is done.

Come on now!

Really North clan? This is all you've got? How can it possibly be that I had the latest post 5 days ago? Are you trying to tell me that nothing has been happening that is note worthy?! Jeff and Breein for all I know you've moved to Arizona and gave the kid up for adoption. Donald, is Keyilighagah pregnant yet? Did Stephanie break another bone and get kicked off the team yet? Did Doug finally get cut from the team and put in the retard class? Come on guys what's going on back home, you never call me and let me know so you sure as heck better at least tell me on here!
Love Ya!

Well...

So not a whole lot new going on over here, hence the lack of news from me. The job is good I guess, at least they're still paying me anyway. Between school, work, and the pathetic social life I have its been pretty hard to find time to get on here and check up on everyone, not to mention adding some of my own writings. Can't really complain though, school seems to be going okay, I really think that if I actually apply myself and study a little bit I should get A's in all my classes. Church is going okay and there actually seem to be a few normal people in my ward, that or I'm changing and becoming like them which I suppose is a serious possibility but highly unlikely after considering what kind of a person I am.
Just so everyone knows...I haven't even been on a date in like a month and things aren't looking up as far as that goes. I did manage to talk to some pretty girls at church today but don't even really know how to ask someone out so I doubt that will go anywhere. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm really looking forward to that girl who is on her mission to get home. I was thinking the other day that I'm not quite sure why we, as a civilization, ever stopped the practice of arranged marriages!? I mean think about it, unless your parents had no sense of who you were or they just had horrible taste, things would work out pretty good. I like to think that Mom and Dad would find me a hottie who would suit me just fine, and then there would be none of this awkward dating business at all. How sweet would that be? But since we cut that out I guess I'll just have to do something someday and somehow get a girlfriend....
So how come nobody is writing? I was taking the heat for not being a blogger and now I have posted twice in a row with no other posts in between. Anyway Stephanie sprained her ankle in Hawaii and Laurie didn't know. She said that is the type of thing I should have put on the blog. So Stephanie had a meet this weekend at Idaho and Washington State. She swam well but her ankle was a factor. She said that it hurt a lot and wasn't able to push off as hard on her turns as usual. She has two more meets the next two weekends and then the conference championships in San Antonio the last week in Feb. Doug isn't getting a lot of playing time in his basketball games lately. He has a game Tuesday against Hidden Valley. We'll see if he gets more then.

2 Trips to McMinnville

So Donald and I went to McMinnville and as I thought Sophie didn't come while I was there. We got home Sunday night and of course Breein went into labor. I decided to go back up to McMinnville on Monday morning after Sophie was born. I grabbed Mom, stopped in Eugene to get Laurie and Leona, and headed to the hospital. We found the happy little family doing well except for Breein's reaction to something in her IV. Her face was red and swollen. I'm happy to hear that all is well now and that they are home again. Breein said that Spartan seems to be tolerating the new addition.

New North

As Laurie has already mentioned, congrats are in order to Jeff and Breein for the latest addition to the North clan. Actually Breein deserves all the credit...I'm sure Jeff's input was pretty miniscule by comparison. (Sorry Jeff...I couldn't resist that!) I think we all owe Tom an apology...no one bothered to let him know that he had another niece until sometime late in the afternoon. I just assumed that Janet had called him, so was pretty surprised when he sent me a text about 3:00 wanting to know why no one had been in touch with him. Our bad, Tom!

Just a quick update on Doug's basketball...he's riding the pine. I'm not sure what happened...he had a really good game, and then didn't score a point the next two games. His playing time got cut drastically, and rarely touches the ball on offense. It's almost like the coaches told the point guards to play keep away from Doug. He'll be wide open at the free throw line, and they'll force it inside or fling up a 3 pointer. He's been doing okay rebounding, but hasn't done much of anything else. His next game is Friday...I'll give you an update after that game.

Congrats to Jeff & Breein

Sophie was born this morning at 6:32 am.  She weighs 6lbs 8oz and was 19.5 inches long.  I'm sure everyone has already heard, but I thought I'd post it on here anyway.  To my knowledge mom and baby are doing well.  (I guess Jeff is alright too... but no one cares about him!)

Tom's Future Wife

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Tom's future wife will be home from her mission mid-April and will be returning to BYU spring semester.  I've already got something in the works with her dad to get the two of them together.  So, Tom, clear your calendar for April... you'll be going on some dates!

Titles

Just some housekeeping stuff here.  If you fellow bloggers wouldn't mind titling your posts it would help keep things organized.  It doesn't have to be anything profound or even poetic, just a simple word will do... or even the date if you're desperate.  Anyway, that's it.  Thanks everyone for being involved and keeping us updated.  I'm excited, it seems to be going well.
So, Breein is going to have her baby anytime now. Donald and Jeff are planning on spending the whole day snowboarding at Mt. Hood on Saturday. Since Donald doesn't want to have to stay awake to drive to McMinnville and the possibility that Sophie won't wait, I am going to go along to McMinnville. If I go up there it will ensure that the baby doesn't come and Jeff and Donald will get a full day of snowboarding in. I don't really appreciate Jeff's comments about the North thing. I have been a North for 32 1/2 years. I was a Succo for only 20.

I think Dad just about says it all here...

Not really a blogger...

Okay so this is my big debut. I have read all the posts and their corresponding commentary and I can only think of one thing to say:
I want to apologize for my wife. She's learning to be a North... but perfection is not easily attained. To be completely honest I don't think she'll ever quite make it. The best I can hope for, is for her to attain the the Northliness that mom has been able to manage, which in retrospect doesn't seem all that impressive-- but we have to remember where their roots are. They've made great strides!
Anyway I don't have much to say. I'm just wanted to end the tirade and let everyone know that I will offer my meager contribution to the great Northly News.
I'm sure the near future will hold things worthy of report, but for the mean time, unless you are interested in vids or the snowboarding adventures of Donald and me--those adventures may prove worth talking about. I hear Ski Bowl has cliffs!!!-- then I probably won't have much to discuss as my life is filled with monotony...At least for now. (Turns out Breein wasn't faking the whole pregnant thing. Good work Tom. Now I have to raise your seed)

I think I did it

Well believe it or not I think I figured this out. I just wanted to say that you guys don't have enough faith in me. I am once in a while capable of figuring out new technology. Anyway, if I can remember how I did this you may hear from me again. I'm going to bed. Good night

Stephanie

So, since Stephanie is in Hawaii and probably not giving much thought to this blog, I just thought I'd put in the link for you all to read about her greatest achievements.  Just remember though, I am the one who taught her how to swim.  Anyway, click here to read about the Hawaii meet.

6 Months

Leona is 6 months old today.  We celebrated by running to the park and trying out the swings.  Actually we went running and had time to kill before picking up Emme, so we stopped at the park, then I put her in the swing and realized that today was 6 months from when she was born so I grabbed my phone and took her picture.  It was also her first time in a swing.  She wasn't too happy about that, of course lately she hasn't been too happy about anything, maybe the swing was just an innocent variable.  (Don't make fun of her "Quasimoto" look... it was really sunny!)

Anyway, that's it.  Leona is 6 months old today... it goes fast!  Not really super news worthy, but a post none-the-less.  Feel free to send gifts...

Henley Basketball

Since Janet doesn't take the time to read anything on this blog, and probably will never ever try to figure out how to post on it, I'll have to be the one that gives updates on Doug's sports stuff.

Henley played against Hidden Valley tonight, and actually played fairly well for a bunch of kids from Cow Pie High. The JV lost by 3 points, but Doug played very well. He had 10 points...he was 3 for 4 from the field, and 4 for 4 from the free throw line. I don't know how many rebounds he had, but it was quite a few. He was matched up against a kid that was 6'4" and out-weighed him by about 40 pounds, but he played pretty physically and kept the kid from scoring very much. Doug played well enough that they had him swing varsity...I think for the third time this year. Unfortunately all that means is that he gets to sit the bench for an hour and a half, and then beause all the sweat from the first game dries up he then thinks that there's no reason to take a shower when he gets home. The smell doesn't seem to bother him too much...I guess he's kind of like a skunk, and he's gotten used to it...either that or the chromosome he's missing is the one that is associated with his sense of smell.

I'm here, I'm here.

So I finally accepted. Now it looks like we need to get Jeff on board but at least I'm here right? And without the naked pictures too!

Well I am impressed for two reason. First of all that almost everyone is on here, a secondly that a majority of the family played games on New Years and seemed to enjoy it. I sure did. Jeff has always told me that the family didn't do the whole organized games other than hunting or 'vids' as he calls them. So I wanted to say thanks and that I really had fun. The best part was mom laughing at the word 'penis' along with all the Doug jokes.
To reply to past posts, Tom your day will come. Stop trying so hard! It seems like when you give up is when you find the perfect person. Just look at Jeff! He finally decided to stop looking and just date and he married one of the first people he dated. I thought there was no way in hell I was getting married my first year of school and look what happened. So just go on a lot of fun group dates and get study buddies!!!! That is a really good way to get to know someone and not spend any money on her.
And Donald, I miss school so much. I almost feel like I am getting dumber not being in school. My intellect hasn't been challenged in forever and I miss cramming for tests. And think of the social aspect! I only talk to the same 5 people I work with and then cater to the clients I have. No fun in that! Albeit, school has a lot of drama but still. I miss it.

Well thanks for the invite. I guess I needed one being that my last name is North and everything. I promise not to tell terrible stories of things chasing buses and whatnot.

This isn't news, but it is funny...

This is what happens when you kill your first deer and the "tally-whacker" doesn't end up stuck in a tree. OK, I don't know that, but I did want to use "tally-whacker" in a sentence.

I wanted to add something to the blog, but since I have nothing constructive to say, I thought I would post a stupid old video from youtube. If you watch you can see where the bullets hit. This is classic "everything Dick hates about hunting" all in one place. You've got a dirt road, stands every where, I'm sure you've got "Biologic" everywhere, the moron is most likely wearing "Scent-Lock" underwear, and there's even a retard pulling the trigger. The biggest injustice here is that the moron actually got THREE chances. The idiot doesn't deserve killing anything... except maybe himself.

I'm with Donal

Well it's been three and a half years since I last sat in an actual classroom and tried to stay awake through some boring lecture about some kind of something that does not apply or even remotely correlate to my life, but like they say "all good things must end." Today was my first day of school and I'm with Donald, school sucks. It's not so much the fact that I have to learn new course work (or old course work in the case of my stupid math class), or the fact that I have to take notes and actually apply myself to something, but what I really hate about school is that I'm not free anymore! I can't decide when I want to get up or when I want to go to the store even; everything revolves around school now. My whole life has now become consumed by it, school now defines who I am. "What do you do?" "Oh, I'm a student at UVU." How lame is that?! I guess its just hard to change is all...i like to be more in control of my daily life. Don't get me wrong I like having something productive to do everyday, I just don't like having a defined schedule for every single day for the next 5 months, it just doesn't seem practical, how do I know what might come up next Thursday at 9:30 in the morning? What if there is an emergency or worse what if I suddenly get a bad case of BU?! You see where I'm going with this? All I'm saying is that getting back into school might take some time...unfortunately there isn't any, for example I just spent the last hour reading about the "Scientific Method" and how it has evolved over time...like I care anyway, just tell me it has changed and that will be good enough for me.
Oh well, I'm a college kid now! Yah for me....
Hey good to see that Dad graced this blog with his presence...I guess that means it's legit!

Last Chance

So, there have been a total of 10 people (including myself, of course) that have been invited to contribute to this blog.  Surprisingly enough, 8 of us have actually accepted the invitation (Dan doesn't really count, I accepted it for him) and of those 10, 5 people have posted (Donald has even contributed twice!).  So, who does that leave?

Mom - Not that I expected her to really blow us away with her poetic prowess, but a post here and there wouldn't hurt.  Instead, when I mention that she should read my blog or Tom's blog or at least contribute a bit to this one she says, "What is with all this blogging?  Why does everyone have blogs?"  I should've known better, it if is something cool or "modern" you can count mom out.  What year was it that she finally consented to having voice mail/answering machine... 2008?  So, Mom... no more excuses, take 5 minutes out of your insanely crazy schedule and get on here to read about your family and prove me wrong.

Doug - Okay, no surprise there, but seriously, stop humping on the trampoline and get on here to give us updates about your basketball.  All I get from mom is, "He played really well" or "he did alright".

Dan - Well, he actually started a post but I kicked him off the computer before he could publish it... besides, he's off the hook because he puts up with me.

Now for the two people who haven't even accepted the invitation to join the blog, this is your last chance, get on here or forever be barred from striking back.  It's more fun to make fun of you if we know that you're actually reading it and really it is more fun if you can attempt to retaliate.  Common, soon you'll be having that precious little bundle of bouncing joy that you'll just be dying to brag about, here's your chance.  (We would however like to keep this a PG rated blog, so no naked pictures... and I don't mean the baby.)

Too cool? I don't THINK so!!!

Since I'm the patriarch of what appears to be a dysfunctional family, I feel I'm obligated to post a brief disclaimer in case someone that isn't biologically tied to us somehow chances across our "News" and mistakenly arrives at the conclusion that we take ourselves seriously. The vast majority of what is posted here could easily be misconstrued as malicious, argumentative, abusive, mean, or maybe just plain nasty! 90 percent of what is said is done so in jest...and the other 10 percent? Well, none of us is quite perfect...yet. I have to admit that at first glance we probably come across as a little bit arrogant...but when you're better than everyone around you in everything you do, what else can be expected? Whatever the case, if you're reading our "News" please don't be offended....and if you are....well, we didn't invite you here in the first place. Those of you who choose to read further....you do so at your own risk. For those of you that have the cajones to actually leave comments.....let's just say that you're playing with fire.

School Sucks!

Well I'm just going to throw it out there that school sucks and that I really miss Christmas break! Hmm... don't really know what to make of Stephanie's comment but my name was the only one that she mentioned so that's got to mean something I guess... most likely that I am her favorite...understandable :)

Back to Boise

So I'm back in Boise safe and sound. In case none of you knew. Starting tomorrow i get to pay for not swimming much over the break oops. Oh well it won't take that long to get back into the swing of things. At least I have Hawaii to sorta look forward to. I will try to keep everyone posted about what's going on there. It will be fun I'm sure.
Being home was a really nice break from things. I'm glad i got to see everyone. . . even donald. New years was one of the best i think we have ever had. It was a lot of fun and i wish we could get together more often to play games. Sorry this is short but i have to go figure out how to get a hold of the girl i am supposed to be staying with for the next couple of days.
Hope everyone got home safely!!
